He stared down the mountain His back to the setting sun He was weary and footsore His journey had been a difficult one He had traveled for decades Along a twisted, winding road With so many forks that he lost count With enough obstacles so he never got bored He filled his lungs with the mountain air Feeling calmer than he had ever felt The time was long gone when he was afraid After all, there was worse with which he had dealt He started down the mountain And contentment filled his heart As he surveyed the road With which he would soon part He had faced every challenge Passed every thing single test Now he waited for the darkness to come So that he could finally rest.
