The Moonlit Night
The day had drawn up its dark veil
The only luminous object a milky white moon
Who lent her light to the night
Dwarfing in comparison the stars bright
The inky black water lapped the shore
The lake glistened due to the shining moon
Who lent her light to the night
Banishing the darkness with all her might
The suffocating dark blanket cover the world
The only spark a silvery moon
Who lent her light to the night
Keeping at bay everyone’s fright
The wolves howled a fear striking chorus
The sound a tribute to the dazzling round moon
Who lent her light to the night
Spelling a spectacular sight
The hours rolled on without pause
The silent observer a cratered moon
Who lent her light to the night
Much to every onlooker's delight.
